Rowan Cottage – stay in Motueka (Nelson)

Rowan Cottage Motueka

Welcome to Rowan

Accommodation in Motueka for everyone, and with a special welcome for women travelers at Rowan cottage

Rowan Cottage has been a part of the women’s travel accommodation network for years, and it was wonderful after emailing for many years, to finally get to stay there and to finally meet Renee and Trish and their small dog.  Motueka is the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park, and is a perfect place to do day trips to the park to walk and kayak.

Rowan Cottage accommodation is a lovely bedroom with fridge, toaster and jug, and small table where we eat our Thai takeaways from Chokdee.co.nz – which by the crowds is obviously a very popular local restaurant.

The accommodation is in one end of the house which is set it a glorious productive organic garden.

We visit in the autumn when the garden is dripping in produce – grapes, apples, feijoas, broccoli and chickens.

Nelson is a veritable food bowl orchards dripping with apples, homegardens dripping with fruit, we are soon ladened down and are offered far more than we can carry, so sadly have to say no – though I did have a few of those rasberries as I passed!
