Lyn and Chris are New Zealanders who, as well as running The Gables Guest House at Akaroa, have for 13 years been leading small group tours to Italy. As chefs and foodies, their tours have always had a cooking theme – shopping at local markets, demonstrating how to cook and then of course eating the food and drinking the wine.

Learn about the real mediterranean diet using the quality local produce and preparing and sampling the huge variety of the dishes of Puglia.
Some of the hands-on cooking classes will be presented by Lyn and Chris, one even at their trulli home (pictured above), and other classes will be with local women, learning to make local specialties from wood over baked potato foccacia to the famous orecchiette pasta and stuffed vegetables. You will shop at the markets, visit olive oil, wine and cheese producers, as well as exploring the charming towns of the famous Itria valley.
