About

This website is maintained and owned by Rosemary Neave, a passionate networker about travel and women. In 2003 Rosemary and her partner Ngaire Brader built Waihoihoi Lodge, a unique women’s bed and breakfast in Waipu, one and a half hours north of Auckland.  Once plans for the Lodge were underway, it was clear that there needed to be another way to market it directly to women travellers.  So Women Travel NZ was born as a network to advertise women owned and run travel businesses in New Zealand.

In 2009 this Blog Site www.womentravelnz.com was set up so that the latest news can be available via blog and twitter feeds, so that women travellers can have the latest information at their fingertips.

Travel writer Ceridwyn Parr has become a regular contributer to Women Travel NZ and Women Travel the World

What is Women Travel NZ?

Womentravel New Zealand and this Womentravel NZ Blog was set up by to provide a way of advertising the growing number of women-owned and run businesses offering accommodation, adventures, tours, retreats and other ventures which offer a wide variety of opportunities for women to discover the magic and unique environment of Aotearoa/ New Zealand.

Whether you are from overseas and exploring the wonders of New Zealand for the first time, or whether you are a local looking for a holiday, a new challenge or just time out, these sites have something for you.

These are mostly small women-run businesses. Some are for women only, a few are for lesbians only and some welcome everyone, while catering especially for the needs of the woman traveller.
