Blue Voluntours combine conservationist volunteering, educational & fun activities with sight seeing.
Groups are small and personal, between 5 – 15 people and the half to 2 day tours start from Auckland.
For New Zealanders, and those passing through, a new social enterprise has emerged in Auckland where you are invited to make a difference during your holiday.
Focusing on Marine Volunteering around the Auckland region, Blue Voluntour offer everything from a half day Stand Up Paddle board and beach clean up to an overnight stay at Goat Island Marine Reserve – New Zealand’s oldest marine reserve and a significant base for study and research.
This Social Enterprise has been developed by Katja May who is has committed a huge chunk of her work life to Blue Voluntours, as Tour Guide, Manager and Video Producer.
“You’ll find me in or on the ocean most days. I’m an avid SUP surfer, ocean swimmer and beach lover, and I care about New Zealand and its environment.”
She is joined but a team of other passionate people:
We believe it is our responsibility to take actions to protect Aotearoa’s vast shoreline and sea and to share this passion with visitors from overseas and locals alike. We here at Blue Voluntours are all ocean lovers who play in the sea.
